Steroids: asthma

Asthma exacerbation and steroids.

Steroids are used for multiple reasons, and the dosing is different for each reason/indication. For example, for asthma, it is recommended for a short burst of 40 to 60 mg of prednisone per day as a single dose in the morning for 3 to 10 days.

Typically this is 40 mg daily for five days.
